Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

Saturday we went down the road where the Boy Scouts sell Christmas trees, shipped fresh from Pennsylvania (aahh, makes you "pine" for the days in Alaska where you just walked out into the woods and cut down your own....and then burned it on New Years in a giant bonfire!!).
We picked a great tree together, with the sun shining all around (no snow!) and Brent and kids walked it home while I drove by them with the Christmas carols blasting on the radio:)

In a whirlwind of excitement, before I even had a chance to attempt any design plan, the tree was decorated and the living room was lit up like the fourth of July....the kids had a blast (I think Brent thought it was pretty cool too).

"Merry Merry Happy Happy" everyone!

Emma turns 6!

Emma turned 6 and had a nice day. Emma chose crepes for breakfast with strawberries and whipped cream. Mom picked her up from school (wow--super special!) and took her to lunch at the Silver Diner. She had some friends over for a little party and we played outside in the freezing cold weather for awhile before playing dress-up and dancing to fun music. Then she had a lollipop birthday cake and blew out all the candles. Pretty great day for a 6 year old if you ask me:)

On a funny note, Sarah took her piece of cake and jammed it on the lollipop stick and created what she called a, "cake-pop" (see picture and don't even try to take this idea....we already have a patent pending! haha)
