Today I made bread for the first time since arriving in Cairo (sans powdered milk---they don't have that here!). It made me feel settled, normal and very happy....of course it was the maid's first day as well, which could account for some of the euphoria:)
Love you all!

We have found powdered milk before at Saudi Market. Just so you know. :)
I've been reading your blog since you moved to Cairo and am enjoying your new experiences. I'm Andrew Heiss's mom, and visited with them back in October, so I like reading about your visits to Road 9 and the metro and the church because I'm familiar with them. Thanks for befriending my family--I hear your girls love Rachel! I'll be coming to Egypt at the end of October and will be there for several weeks, so it will be nice to meet you.
Amiee, I just made my great grandmother's "three day rolls" for Easter and thought of you as I was working with the dough. It was every Monday, wasn't it??? "Bread Day" I mean.
Nothing like having someone else clean my house that puts a smile on my face! More time to make and eat bread!
Sweet you get a maid. If I would have known that, we would have join the military and moved to Cairo too! Glad you're feeling more confortable each day. Love you guys.
Nice work Amiee. You are truly amazing. I'm planning on downloading skype this week. My computer has really been acting up lately, so cross your fingers that it will work. Love you guys
